Instructions for Submitting Amplified Noise Permit Application

  1. The interested party must complete the Amplified Noise Permit Application. The application may be found online or by contacting the Town Manager’s Office at 703-771-2700.
  2. Once the application is complete, you can submit it by email to or by dropping the application off at the Town Manager’s Office.
  3. There is a $100 fee for annual amplified noise permit. The annual amplified noise permit will be effective for twelve months from the date of issuance.a.Payment can be made in-person by dropping off a check to the Town Manager’s Office when submitting the application, at the front finance counter of Town Hall using a credit card, or through the Town of Leesburg’s website. A service fee will be applied if payment is made through the Town of Leesburg’s website.
  4. The Town Manager’s Office will approve or deny upon reviewing the application.
  5. The approved amplified noise permit allows for the use of sound amplifying equipment for the amplification of the human voice, music, or any other sound between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
  6. One (1) copy of the approved application will be returned to the applicant and shall be in the possession of the person operating the sound amplifying equipment. The approved application must be promptly displayed and shown to any police officer of the Town of Leesburg upon request.
  7. A second copy of the approved application will be sent electronically to the Leesburg Police Department and filed with the Town Manager’s Office.
  8. The 24/7 designated contact for law enforcement listed on the application will have direct responsibility for any reported violations of the noise ordinance and any subsequent criminal investigation/charges.
  9. If a person receives two violations of the noise ordinance, then the amplified noise permit shall be canceled by the Town Manager for a six-month time period. A violation is defined as the issuance of a written summons by the police department.
