The purpose of the Town of Leesburg’s official social media accounts is to present matters of interest to Leesburg’s residents, businesses, visitors, and other members of the public. We encourage you to post comments and share the Town’s posts to your own accounts.
The Town of Leesburg considers all of its social media accounts to be moderated online discussion sites and not open public forums. The Town reserves the right to delete comments that contain vulgar language, personal attacks of any kind, or offensive comments that promote, foster, or perpetuate discrimination against protected classes. Further, the Town also reserves the right to delete comments that:
- contain profane language;
- are spam or include links to other sites;
- advocate illegal activity;
- contain sexual or indecent messages;
- may compromise the safety or security of the public, public systems, or private individuals;
- solicit others for commercial ventures or religious, social or political causes; or
- infringe on copyrights or trademarks.
Violators of this policy may have their comments removed. Repeated violators may be permanently blocked from posting comments on the Town’s social media accounts.
All content of the Town's social media accounts, including comments posted, are public information and are subject to the laws of Commonwealth of Virginia, including the Virginia Freedom of Information Act.
Please note that the comments posted on the Town’s social media accounts may not reflect the opinions and positions of the Town of Leesburg government or its officers and employees.
