The Eric Brown Skate Plaza is located in Catoctin Park.  It is an approximately 12,000 square foot concrete skate plaza.  Features include a bowl, vertical wall, rails, benches, and other street elements.

The skate plaza is named in honor of skating enthusiast and park supporter Eric Brown who, as a teenager, was instrumental in the creation of the original Catoctin SkatePark in 1998.

Hours and Rules

  • The Skate Plaza is open from dawn to dusk.  It may be closed for inclement weather, maintenance, or programming.
  • Helmets are required.  Bikes must have pegs removed.  Please see the complete list of rules below:

The Skatepark is located at 141 Catoctin Circle SE (click for directions).  For information about the Skatepark please call the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center at 703-777-1368.


Park Rentals

The Eric Brown Skate Plaza is available for private rental outside of regular hours. Contact the Rental Coordinator for more information.
