Project Description: The project included construction of approximately 1,650 feet of 4-lane arterial roadway with a sidewalk and multi-use trail immediately south of Edwards Ferry Road. This included improvements to the Battlefield Parkway / Edwards Ferry Road intersection, and linked the existing Parkway north of Edwards Ferry Road with a segment constructed by a private developer in connection with the Fort Evans Plaza shopping center immediately north of Fort Evans Road. The limits of the project were extended to include widening of a portion of Edwards Ferry Road at the intersection of Battlefield Parkway.  By completing this final segment of Battlefield Parkway between North King Street and the Dulles Greenway, access to the northern portions of the Town have been improved and congestion on the Route 15 Bypass has been reduced.

Current Status:  This project was completed in December 2011.
