Leesburg’s Environmental Advisory Commission (EAC) welcomes nominations for the John W. Tolbert, Jr. Environmental Achievement Award. This award program recognizes students, community groups, or individuals that conduct or participate in activities that benefit the Town’s environment. Examples of activities that benefit the Town’s environment include:
- Innovative use of recycled materials (including composting, collection programs for materials that are recyclable or reusable)
- Pollution prevention
- Waste reduction
- Protection of the natural environment
- Habitat Improvement
- Beautification of the environment
- Environmental education
- Monitoring the condition of Leesburg’s environment (streams, habitat, etc.)
By filling out this form, your nomination will be forwarded to the EAC for consideration. Award Recipient(s) will be announced in January and presented with the award at a future Town Council Meeting.
