Police Officer (Entry level)
Starting Salary: $66,000+ (Pay Grade P1), dependent on qualifications.
Police Officer (Virginia Lateral)
Starting Salary: The starting rank and salary are aligned with pay grades P1-P4 after a verification of law enforcement experience, education, and military service.

Pay Enhancements
- Military Service: Pay incentive for honorable discharge

- Language Incentive Program: 5% increase for demonstrated proficiency in a non-English language
No stipends or bonuses—only permanent, base-building pay counted toward retirement.
Paid Time Off and Leave
- Paid Time Off (PTO): 21–33 days per year based on years of service
- 13.5 Paid Holidays
- Military Leave For annual training and activation
- Bereavement Leave: 3–5 days depending on relation to family member
- Paid Family Leave: Up to 6 weeks for the birth of a child, adoption, foster care or to care for a spouse, domestic partner, child or parent due to a serious health condition.

Education Assistance
The Town reimburses up to 75% of tuition costs (up to $5,000 per fiscal year) for approved degree or certification programs that support your career in public service.

- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Physically and medically fit
- Background clear of disqualifying criminal history
