All employees of the Leesburg Police Department share in the responsibility of attaining good community relations.

Community policing is a proactive approach to law enforcement that emphasizes collaboration between the Leesburg Police Department and the community.  It's not just about responding to crime; it's about building trust, fostering relationships, and addressing the root causes of crime. This approach encourages open communication, transparency, and mutual respect, leading to safer neighborhoods and a stronger Leesburg. By engaging with residents, understanding their concerns, and involving them in decision-making processes, community policing helps create a sense of ownership and shared responsibility for public safety. Ultimately, it's about building bridges and working together to build safer, more vibrant communities for everyone.

The Department has an active community policing program which involves the assignment of officers to specific Community Policing Sectors in the Town. Officers assigned to these sectors are encouraged to meet with residents and businesses and work with them to address any concerns and problems.

The Town is also divided into Patrol Beats which incorporate the Community Policing Sectors so that the officers patrol the areas that include their assigned sector.

The map shows the different Community Policing Districts / Beats and indicates the Commander for your neighborhood. Residents are welcome to contact your Community Commander with questions and concerns.
