Special Enforcement Team (SET)

About the Program
The Leesburg Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team (SET) is a focused, proactive unit dedicated toSET addressing crime patterns that present elevated risks to public safety. The program is designed to target ongoing criminal activity through strategic operations, intelligence analysis, and coordinated enforcement.

The Role of the Team
SET officers concentrate on complex and repeat offenses, including narcotics distribution, gang-related activity, and organized retail theft. Rather than responding solely to individual incidents, the team conducts in-depth investigations, surveillance, and targeted operations aimed at disrupting criminal networks and reducing long-term crime trends. SET works closely with patrol, detectives, and partner agencies to ensure a comprehensive approach to enforcement.

How We Help the Community
By identifying emerging threats and deploying resources where they are most effective, SET strengthens the department’s ability to prevent crime before it escalates. The team’s focused efforts enhance public safety, protect victims, and contribute to sustained crime reduction, supporting the Leesburg Police Department’s mission to keep the community safe.
