The Professional Standards Bureau, led by Captain Jaime Sanford, ensures the department operates efficiently and professionally by overseeing Accreditation, Records Management, Fleet & Facilities, Property & Evidence, Quartermaster, Information Technology, and Recruiting and Training. This bureau ensures compliance with VLEPSC standards, manages police records and infrastructure, maintains equipment and evidence, supports technology needs, and focuses on hiring and training qualified personnel.

Resource Management Division

Sergeant Melissa Codori

The Resource Management Division oversees the logistical and technological functions that support the department’s daily operations. This includes Fleet & Facilities, which maintains department vehicles and infrastructure, as well as the Property, Evidence, & Quartermaster Section, responsible for the secure handling of evidence and the procurement and maintenance of equipment, uniforms, and supplies. The division also manages Information Technology (IT), ensuring the reliability and security of the department’s communications systems, software, and data infrastructure. This division additionally oversees the headquarters expansion and renovation project.

The Accreditation function ensures the department’s continued compliance with Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission (VLEPSC) requirements and recognized best practices. This includes maintaining accreditation standards, coordinating audits and assessments, and overseeing policy and procedural reviews to ensure the department operates in accordance with professional and regulatory benchmarks

Lieutenant Glenn Ogle

The Recruiting and Training Division plays a vital role in building and maintaining a highly skilled and professional workforce. The Recruiting Unit is responsible for attracting and hiring qualified candidates who embody the department's values of integrity, service, and excellence. This unit conducts outreach efforts, attends job fairs, and collaborates with local organizations and educational institutions to promote career opportunities in law enforcement. The recruiting team also oversees the thorough hiring process, which includes background checks, interviews, and pre-employment assessments, ensuring that only the most capable and dedicated individuals join the department.

The Training Unit is responsible for providing ongoing education and skill development to both new and veteran officers. This unit coordinates in-service training, ensuring that all officers stay current with the latest law enforcement practices, legal updates, and departmental policies.
