Ida Lee Park offers several wellness classes and workshops on several health topics. Classes are taught by our personal trainers and group fitness instructors. Here are some examples of the wellness specialty classes that we offer throughout the year! Please check our Leesburg at Leisure for a current listing of upcoming scheduled classes.
WOW (Women on Weights) - Machines
(Ages 16 & up) Learn how to design your own strength workout utilizing the equipment in the Ida Lee Fitness Center. This class is composed of a half hour of lecture and 90-minutes of hands on training to provide you with a basic understanding of weight training using the selectorized machines. You will learn basic strength training form, technique, and principles so that you have safe and effective workouts. No experience with weight training necessary. 1, 2-hour class.
**NEW** Creating Your Wellness Plan - Vision and Roadmap
(Ages 16 & up) Need a jumpstart on your Wellness Journey before the holidays begin? Or are you looking for some guidance and accountability to learn new Wellness habits? Join us for a 6-week program as we learn about 5 Wellness domains: Movement, Nutrition, Mental and Emotional Wellness, Recovery, Regeneration and Sleep. We will also create a personalized Wellness Plan and Vision. A 30-minute private consultation with a Certified Wellness and Nutrition Coach is also included. 6, 75-minute classes and 1, 30-minute private consolation.
Kettlebell Basics
(Ages 16 & up) This class is designed for those with little or no experience in incorporating kettlebells in their fitness routine. Instruction will focus on providing basic kettlebell exercises to use during a workout to achieve maximum results. Class size is limited to 6 participants and kettlebells will be provided. 1, 60-minute class.
TRX for Beginners
(Ages 16 & up) Never tried using the TRX? This class will show you the basics of a workout with the TRX. Instruction will include set-up, proper form, and will include some introductory moves to get you started! After this you will be ready to move to Intermediate TRX use. Class size is limited to 4 participants. 1, 60-minute class.
