Ida Lee Summer Camps – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. How do I register my child for summer camp?
Registration is done by the week, allowing families to choose the weeks that best fit their schedule. You can register online through the Ida Lee website or in person at the front desk.

2. What age groups are your camps designed for?
We offer camps for six different age groups, with age-appropriate programming and supervision tailored to each group. Each group typically includes about 25 campers per week to ensure a safe, engaging, and personalized experience.

3. What are the camp hours?
Most camps run from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Before-care and after-care options may be available—please check the specific camp week for details.

4. Where are the camps held?
All camps take place at the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center, utilizing both our indoor and outdoor facilities including gymnasiums, sports fields, and playgrounds.

5. Do the camps include any off-site activities or trips?
Yes! All of our summer camps visit the AVSAC Outdoor Waterpark every Wednesday, so please ensure your child brings a swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen on those days.

6. What should my child bring to camp each day?
Campers should bring:

  • A nut-free lunch and snacks (this is required for the safety of all participants)

  • A refillable water bottle

  • Sunscreen

  • Comfortable clothing and athletic shoes

  • Swim gear on Wednesdays for waterpark visits

  • Any additional items listed in your weekly welcome email

7. Are refunds available if we need to cancel?
Yes. Full refunds are issued if the cancellation is made at least 30 days in advance of the camp week. For cancellations made closer to the start date, partial refunds may be available. Please refer to our cancellation policy or contact the front desk for more information.

8. Who supervises the campers?
Our camps are led by trained and experienced counselors who are certified in CPR and First Aid. All staff undergo background checks and extensive training before the camp season begins.

9. What kinds of activities do campers participate in?
Activities vary by age group but typically include outdoor games, sports, arts & crafts, themed events, team-building games, and water fun—especially on Wednesdays at AVSAC (outdoor water park).

10. Can I sign my child up for multiple weeks?
Yes! You’re welcome to register for as many weeks as you'd like, depending on availability. Many families choose multiple weeks to keep their children active and engaged all summer long.
