From the creation of the Old and Historic District (OHD) in 1963, the Town of Leesburg has been committed to the identification, documentation, and preservation of historic resources throughout the Town for more than 60 years.

The Preservation Division is the primary point of contact for the Old and Historic District, Gateway Overlay District, and the proffered H-2 District. The primary role of the Preservation Division is the protection and enhancement of heritage resources in Leesburg. Staff in this division also support the Board of Architectural Review and provide guidance on preservation projects throughout Town.
