Historic District Architectural Survey
The Town of Leesburg will be conducting an architectural survey of the Old & Historic District beginning Monday, December 9, 2024.
The purpose of this project is to update the Town's records on the exterior appearance and context of residential and commercial buildings located in the historic downtown. The most recent survey was conducted over 20 years ago.
The survey update will assist the Department of Community Development and the Board of Architectural Review in their work to preserve and protect the historic district for the community. Further, this data will also provide property owners will a more accurate picture of the architectural history of their buildings.
How Will the Survey Work?
The Town's consultant, Stantec, will have a team of architectural historians conducting the first round of surveys beginning the week of Monday, December 9th. You will see this team wearing neon vests while surveying for easy identification. The group will return mid-winter to complete the survey.
