Project Description:  During the last two decades the solids treatment process has remained relatively unchanged. However, water usage has been declining due to conservation and low-flow fixtures which causes an increase in solids concentrations of sanitary sewer flow. The Town's solids processing facilities have been impacted and a biosolids capacity analysis is underway to evaluate current system treatment capacities.

The project includes refurbishment of the anaerobic digester facilities, replacement of two gravity thickeners and construction of a third gravity thickener, replacement of a digested sludge storage tank, installation of a new flare, installation of new primary sludge screens, and associated electrical and controls work. 

Project Updates:  In March 2026,, the Town's engineering consultant submitted the 100% design drawings for the project. The advertisement for bid is planned for June 2026.
