Project Description:  This project will provide for a traffic signal and left turn lane at the intersection of Sycolin Road and Gateway Drive. A Signal Justification Report (SJR) was conducted that determined the most appropriate intersection design for this location is a traffic signal with a left turn lane. The traffic signal will facilitate gaps in the heavy left turn movements into Gateway Drive and increase safety for all turning vehicles. The project will also add a crosswalk across Sycolin Road increasing walkability and pedestrian safety, thus supporting the Town's sustainability goals.

Project Updates:  As of July 14, 2026  -  The preliminary design has been received and is currently under review by Town staff and Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
