Morven Park Road Crosswalk - West Market Street and Loudoun Street project information from Fiscal Year 2026 Budget (Project No. 24303)

Project Description: This project includes constructing crosswalks across West Market Street and Loudoun Street, SW east of the Morven Park Road intersection. The project will include the upgrade of sidewalks and handicap ramps to meet current ADA standards and will provide accessible and continuous pedestrian access for residents in that area, including a connection to the Westgreen subdivision.  The crosswalks will include pedestrian-activated flashing beacon signage. This project will be constructed in coordination with the Morven Park Road Sidewalk Project.

Project Updates:  As of October 30, 2025 – At the meeting on October 28, 2025, the Town Council approved a resolution authorizing an offer to acquire the necessary easements for this project. 

Construction of the crosswalk is expected to begin once the Morven Park Road Sidewalk project is completed.  The estimated completion date for the sidewalk project is early January 2026.
