Milling and Paving Program project information from Fiscal Year 2027 Budget (Project No. 26301)

Project Description: The milling and paving program is necessary rehabilitation on all Town owned and operated roadways that have deferred maintenance. Currently the Town has 269 lane miles that it is responsible for. VDOT requires that localities maintain primary roads pavements to a condition index rating of 60 on a scale from 1 - 100. This project was added to the Capital Improvements Program to provide consistent funding to ensure the Town is able to maintain its roadways to the required standard through regular rehabilitation to include milling and paving and deep patching where required. Funding shown here is in addition to the funding included in the annual operating budget for the Department of Capital Projects.
