Lawson Road Pedestrian Crossing of Tuscarora Creek project information from Fiscal Year 2026 Budget (Project No. 27401)

Project Description:  Tuscarora Creek has significantly deteriorated the low water crossing between two cul-de-sacs on Lawson Road. A new stream crossing will provide bicycle and pedestrian access to the W&OD Trail from residential communities. Bank erosion approximately 200 feet upstream of the crossing will be stabilized to reduce further bank loss.

  • General Contractor - WG Construction, Inc. 

Project Meetings:

A virtual neighborhood meeting was held on February 9, 2022 to discuss the project with residents.  

Project Updates: As of December 10, 2025 -  At its meeting on December 9, 2026, the Town Council authorized award of the construction contract for this project.

Construction is anticipated to begin in 2026. A neighborhood meeting will be scheduled in early 2026 prior to the start of construction.  Meeting details will be posted on this webpage once a date and time are confirmed.
