Chesapeake Bay TMDL Phase III project information from Fiscal Year 2027 Budget (Project No. 25401)

Project Description: This project is in accordance with the Town's Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS-4) permit for the period 2023 - 2028 and will include retrofit to existing stormwater management ponds/facilities. The Town will apply for grant funding from the Virginia Department of Environment Quality's Stormwater Local Assistance Fund (SLAF), which could cover up to half of the construction costs. Funds from the cancelled Town Branch Stream Channel Improvements at Mosby Drive - Catoctin Circle to Morven Park Road (23402) have been transferred to this project temporarily until new Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) related projects are identified and added to the CIP. This project enhances sustainability within the Town avoiding, minimizing, and mitigating impacts to natural resources and increasing water quality.

Project Updates:  Design is expected to begin in the spring of 2026.
