Police Station Expansion project information from Fiscal Year 2027 Budget (Project No. 20001)
Project Start Date: Fall 2019
Estimated Completion Date: Fall 2026
Project Manager: Rizwan Ishaq 703-737-7055
Project Description: This project provides for the expansion and renovation of the Leesburg Police Department Public Safety Facility located at 65 Plaza Street, NE. Since the construction of the facility in 1997, the Town’s population has more than doubled and the Town police force has grown. This project will provide a 14,000 square foot (SF) 1-story addition to the existing building, renovation of the existing building, HVAC improvements to the Support Building, the addition of electrical vehicle (EV) charging stations, expansion of the secure parking area, and a second fiber connection to eliminate the single point of failure on the network. Future expansions, including a potential 9,000 SF 2nd-story addition, will be needed as the Town and the police force continue to grow. This project will improve sustainability by increasing energy efficiency in a government building, providing natural light, providing secure green space, and providing electric vehicle charging stations.
