Project Description: Located near the Ida Lee Recreation Center, a 19th century barn has been used by the Department of Parks and Recreation for storage. Through the years, the condition of the barn deteriorated.
In 2008, the Town renovated the barn to provide a weather-tight facility, suitable for storage. Renovations included:
- New metal roof
- New wood siding
- Modification of interior stairs and loft to improve safety
By renovating the structure, the Town was able to save a historically significant structure, and benefit from an adaptive use that provides a much needed area for operation of the park.
Current Status: The barn renovation was completed in 2008 and is being used by the Department of Parks and Recreation.
