Governor Northam Issues Mandatory Stay at Home Order Through June 10

 On Monday, March 30, 2020, Governor Ralph Northam issued Executive Order Fifty-Five, expanding statewide restrictions. Residents are required to stay at home except when traveling to and from work, shopping for groceries and supplies, seeking medical care, and other essential activities. Gatherings of more than 10 people remain prohibited. The full list of restrictions is available on the Governor's website.

Bulk Item Collection in Town of Leesburg Suspended

Future changes to solid waste disposal may be necessary.

Leesburg, VA (March 20, 2020) – Due to concerns over coronavirus exposure risks to their employees, Patriot Disposal notified town officials today that they have suspended bulk item collection in the Town of Leesburg, effective immediately. This suspension applies only to collection of oversized items such as furniture and appliances, normally collected by request only. Regular household trash and recycling collection is not affected.

Town officials are in discussion with Patriot regarding possible future changes to solid waste collections and contingency plans to ensure that essential services continue.
