Forward Virginia Phase 3 Guidelines Released

Northern Virginia will enter Phase 3 on July 1

On June 23, Governor Northam announced that Virginia will enter Phase 3 of the Forward Virginia reopening plan on Wednesday, July 1. Governor Northam Mandates Use of Face Masks in Indoor Public Spaces

On May 26, Governor Northam signed Executive Order Sixty-Three, requiring Virginians to wear face masks in public indoor spaces to help contain the spread of the coronavirus, effective Friday, May 29. Accordingly, customers and town staff members will be required to wear face masks while in public areas of Town Hall (hallways, meeting rooms, restrooms, etc.). Town Council Adopts Continuity of Government Ordinance

At a special meeting on April 3, 2020, the Leesburg Town Council adopted a continuity of government ordinance. This ordinance outlines how the town government will operate under the current emergency to ensure that critical services continue to be provided. The full ordinance can be downloaded below:

Town of Leesburg Closes Thomas Balch Library, Ida Lee Park Recreation Center, and Ida Lee Tennis Center

Leesburg, VA (March 15, 2020) – The Town of Leesburg announced this evening that the Thomas Balch Library, the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center, and Ida Lee Tennis Center will be closed until further notice.

The closures are taking place in accordance with new guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommending no gatherings with more than 50 people, as well as Governor Northam’s direction to limit gatherings of more than 100 attendees. Town staff will reevaluate the closures by the end of next week.
 
Further changes to the Town’s programs, activities, and services will be posted on the Town website at www.leesburgva.gov/closures.
