HUBZoneLeesburg, VA (November 26, 2019) – In collaboration with the Town of Leesburg’s Economic Development Office, the Mason Enterprise Center, 202 Church Street, in Leesburg, will hold the next Quarterly HUBZone “Contractor Chat” on Monday, December 2 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meeting is free to attend and open to all small businesses interested in federal contracting. A sponsored lunch will be provided by Corporate Results Inc.

This quarter’s guest speaker will be Bruce Purdy, deputy director of the SBA HUBZone program. Purdy will update the group on program changes that will go into effect in 2020, share information about their new early engagement program for HUBZone certification applicants, and answer questions applying for HUBZone certification.

Purdy has worked for the US Small Business Administration (SBA) in a variety of roles over the past 20+ years. His roles at SBA started as a Program Analyst and progressed to include Deputy Associate Administrator, Office of the SBDC program and Deputy Assistant Administrator, Office of Women's Business Ownership.

A program of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the HUBZone program helps small businesses gain preferential access to federal contracts while increasing employment opportunities in economically distressed areas. The Mason Enterprise Center and Leesburg Economic Development have partnered to bring in technical experts and local business owners who have successfully completed the process to present information at quarterly meetings.
