Leesburg Partners with Knights of Columbus and VFW Post 1177 to Collect “Sweats for Vets”

Sweats 4 Vets 2017Leesburg, VA (November 21, 2019) – The Town of Leesburg is partnering with the Knights of Columbus and VFW Post 1177 to collect sweatsuits to be donated to in-patients at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia. 

Beginning today, collection boxes will be located at Town Hall, Ida Lee Park Recreation Center, and the Leesburg Police Department. Sweats will be accepted through Monday, December 23, 2019.  

Donation guidelines are as follows:

• New sweatshirts and sweatpants only. Matching sets preferred.
• All sizes accepted, but there is greater need for sizes L, XL, and XXL.
• Sweats should not be gift-wrapped.
• If desired, include a label with the name of the donor (individual or organization).

Sweats will be packaged at VFW Post 1177 from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, December 28. Volunteers are welcome. Packages will be delivered to the Martinsburg VA Medical Center on January 11, 2020.
