Officers Recognized for DUI Enforcement

Officer Matthew Connell, Officer Wayne Gray, Officer Brad Codori, and Patrol Team 3 of the Leesburg Police Department were among the honorees for the 2019 MADD Virginia Law Enforcement Awards, sponsored by the Fairfax County ASAP Chapter, Bull Run ASAP Chapter, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. 

Officer Connell, Officer Codori, and Officer Gray are each recognized for their efforts in furthering highway safety by each removing 24 drunk or impaired drivers from Leesburg roads during the year of 2018. 

Patrol Team 3 is also recognized for their outstanding efforts in furthering highway safety by removing 105 drunk or impaired drivers from Leesburg roads during the year of 2018.  This was accomplished under the leadership of Sergeant Brad Schultz who previously won the MADD Award for 10 consecutive years.  Patrol Team 3 members who contributed to these efforts include Officers Matthew Connell, Wayne Gray, Brad Codori, Greg Parsons, Aaron Ray, and Russell McClung.

“DUI continues to be a major public safety concern. I am pleased that these officers are recognized for their efforts in addressing DUI’s in our community, and I am also grateful to MADD and ASAP for their continuous partnership with law enforcement,” said Chief of Police Greg Brown.

Also recognized at the ceremony were members of the Fairfax County Police Department, Herndon Police Department, Virginia State Police, Haymarket Police Department, Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police, Middleburg Police Department, Prince William County Police Department, Purcellville Police Department, Arlington County Police Department, Falls Church Police Department, City of Alexandria Police Department, and the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office.
