Nighttime Utility Work Planned for Loudoun Street SW

Loudoun Street SW, between South King Street and Wirt Street, will be closed during construction beginning August 19.

Leesburg, VA (August 16, 2019) – Early next week, the Utilities Department will be replacing water service lines to properties on Loudoun Street SW during the overnight hours. The work is expected to take two nights.

Beginning at 2:00 a.m. on Monday, August 19, the eastbound lane of Loudoun Street SW will be closed from Wirt Street to South King Street. Eastbound traffic will be detoured around the closure via Wirt Street to either Market Street or Royal Street. Westbound traffic will not be affected by the closure. The eastbound lane will be reopened to traffic no later than 7:00 a.m.

On Monday evening, beginning at 9:00 p.m., both lanes of Loudoun Street SW between South King Street and Wirt Street will be closed. Traffic will be detoured around the closure, using either Market Street or Royal Street. The road will reopen to traffic no later than 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20.

Drivers are advised to use caution and follow detour signage.
