Leesburg Police Join Local Neighborhoods in Celebrating 36th Annual National Night Out
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes partnerships to make our communities safer. The Leesburg Police Department (LPD) will celebrate National Night Out at the Potomac Station Apartments on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All Leesburg residents are encouraged to spend the evening outside and get to know their neighbors.
"The success of our police department continues to be greatly influenced by the partnerships we build with our community. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life and provide exceptional police services to the residents, businesses and visitors of the Town of Leesburg. This event is integral in assisting us with accomplishing that mission” said Leesburg Police Chief Gregory Brown.
The evening’s activities will include a moon bounce, a variety of refreshments, and door prizes provided by event sponsors. The Leesburg Police Department will have the Mobile Command Center, police cars, and police motorcycles on display. Children are invited to meet Leesburg K-9 Officers and to ride the Leesburg Police Barrel Train. The Leesburg Parks & Recreation Department will be on hand with an inflatable obstacle course and a Start Smart Tennis program, assisted by volunteers from the Town’s R.O.C.K. (Recreation Outreach to Community Kids) program. Other organizations supporting the program include Leesburg Fire/Rescue Squad, Lodge 69 Fraternal Order of Police, and the LPD Support Team.
In addition, Loudoun Hunger Relief will be distributing non-perishable food and information about their programs.
Sponsors for Leesburg’s 2019 National Night Out include Target, Wegmans, Chick-Fil-A, Giant Food, and INOVA. National Night Out is a program of the National Association of Town Watch (www.natw.org).
