Leesburg, VA (February 27, 2019) – The Town of Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department, with support from the Department of Public Works, will be performing annual maintenance inside the Olde Izaak Walton Dog Park from Monday, March 4 to Wednesday, March 6. As a result, the dog park will be closed. It is expected to reopen on Thursday, March 7.

Maintenance will include the removal of the existing wood chip mulch which will be replaced with a new layer. The decomposition of the existing mulch causes the surfacing to become saturated after a period of time and can often lead to drainage concerns. Applying new mulch will create a more stable, well drained surface throughout the season.
