Leesburg, VA (February 5, 2019) – The Mason Enterprise Center, 202 Church Street, in Leesburg, will hold the next Quarterly HUBZone “Contractor Chat” on Monday, February 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meeting is free to attend and open to all small businesses interested in federal contracting. A free lunch, sponsored by Access National Bank, a division of Union Bank & Trust of Richmond, Virginia, will be provided.

This quarter’s guest speaker will be Small Business Administration (SBA) Business Opportunity Specialist Brian Lederhouse. Among other duties, Lederhouse reviews HUBZone applications and trains new reviewers at the SBA. Lederhouse is also involved in application interpretations and seeing that new regulations are put into practice. He will share key aspects and answer attendee questions regarding applications and compliance issues.

A program of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the HUBZone program helps small businesses gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities while increasing employment opportunities in economically distressed areas. In an effort to assist local businesses with navigating the HUBZone certification process, the Mason Enterprise Center and Leesburg Economic Development Office have partnered with technical experts and local business owners who have completed the process successfully to present quarterly information sharing meetings.
