MLK StatueLeesburg, VA (January 28, 2019) – A statue of Martin Luther King Jr. was installed in the lobby of Town Hall, 25 W Market Street, on Monday, January 28, 2019. Its presence highlights Black History Month, which is nationally recognized during the month of February.

The statue, designed by internationally known sculpture Jeff L. Hall, is the mock-up version of a 9-foot tall bronze statue he made for the Martin Luther King Library in Aurora, CO.  The resin statue is approximately eight feet tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. The Leesburg Town Council approved the public exhibit at their January 22 meeting. The statue will be on display until February 28, 2019.
