Annual Leesburg 20K/5K Race Scheduled for Sunday, August 19, 2018

Residents and drivers should expect road closures between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Leesburg, VA (August 14, 2018) – The 30th annual Leesburg 20K/5K race, benefiting the Loudoun County YMCA and multiple Loudoun County High School Cross Country teams, will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018. This annual charity road race will be staged in downtown Leesburg and will begin in front of Tuscarora Restaurant (203 Harrison Street).  

The 20K will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m., followed by the 5K at 7:48 a.m. A free kids’ fun run of about 100 yards will be held at 7:55 a.m., immediately after the start of the 5K race. Residents and drivers should expect rolling street closures on the following streets between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m.:

• Harrison Street, between Loudoun Street and Catoctin Circle
• Catoctin Circle, between Harrison Street and the W&OD Trail
• Dry Mill Road, between Catoctin Circle and Lee Avenue
• South King Street, at the W&OD Trail

A post-race party will be held at MacDowell Brew Kitchen with special deals for race participants. For more information about the run, street closures, or the event route, please visit
