LPD Officer Graduates from the 138th Session of the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy
On June 20, 2018 Leesburg Police Officer Daniel Butler graduated from the 138th Session of the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy’s Basic Law Enforcement School. Officer Butler completed the 20-week program that covers all aspects of law enforcement principals and procedures. In addition to completing Basic Law Enforcement School, Officer Butler broke the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy’s Basic Law Enforcement School’s pull-up, an upper-body compound pulling exercise record.
The graduation ceremony was held at George Mason University Center for the Arts Concert Hall in Fairfax, Virginia. Participating agencies of the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy include the Arlington County Police Department, Arlington County Sheriff’s Office, City of Alexandria Police Department, City of Alexandria Office Sheriff’s Office, City of Fairfax Police Department, City of Falls Church Police Department, George Mason University Police Department, Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, City of Manassas Police Department, Metro Transit Police Department, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police, Northern Virginia Community College Police Department and the Town of Purcellville Police Department.
“We welcome our newest member of the Leesburg Police family. This noble profession will ask you to make many sacrifices and will require you to faithfully and honorably protect our community.” stated Leesburg Police Chief Gregory Brown.
Officer Butler will now be placed into a structured 12-week training program with seasoned Field Training Officers. After successful completion of the Field Training Program, he will be certified for solo patrol.
