The float featured figures representing the various branches of the United States armed forces riding on the back of a bald eagle. Mayor Kelly Burk presented the trophy to Craig and Leanne Packard and their son Ryan, who live in Lovettsville. The cup will be engraved with their names and placed on display at the Leesburg Town Hall. The Patriot Cup competition is sponsored by Loudoun Now newspaper.

According to Leanne, she and her family thought it would be fun to create the float and they really enjoyed the parade.
