Pop-Up Exhibit at the Donaldson Log Cabin to Explore Leesburg's Neighborhoods & Communities

Post Date:07/31/2026 1:00 PM

Leesburg, VA (July 31, 2026) – The public is invited to a pop-up exhibit on Friday, August 7, exploring Leesburg’s neighborhoods. A postcard image of an early 20th century Leesburg neighborhood

Leesburg has changed significantly over time, shaped by the people who lived here and the choices they made. As the community grew and adapted, each generation left its mark on the Town's landscape and identity. This exhibit invites visitors to explore how those changes continue to influence Leesburg today.

Featured in the pop-up exhibit at the Donaldson Log Cabin will be historic maps, photographs, architectural files, and other materials from Thomas Balch Library's collections that trace how neighborhoods formed, expanded, and changed over time. These records offer a glimpse into the Town's physical growth while highlighting the communities, families, and planning efforts that contributed to the character of its neighborhoods.

The event will be held in conjunction with Leesburg First Friday, with visitors welcome to stop by the Donaldson Log Cabin, located at 14 Loudoun Street SW, between 5 and 7 p.m. Registration is not required.
