Leesburg, VA (July 27, 2026) – The Leesburg Police Department is excited to invite the community to join us for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Douglass Community Center playground, located at 405 E. Market Street.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that strengthens partnerships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. The event provides an opportunity for the community to connect with one another, meet members of the Leesburg Police Department, and learn about the many organizations working together to keep our community safe.
This year's event is made possible through the partnership and support of the Douglass Community Center, and we are grateful for their continued collaboration in helping bring the community together for this annual celebration.
This year's event will feature:
• Free food and refreshments
• Moon bounce, games, and activities for children
• Police vehicles and specialty equipment displays
• Community organizations and resource booths
• Giveaways and family-friendly activities
National Night Out reminds us that one of the best crime prevention tools is simply knowing your neighbors," said Chief Thea Pirnat. "When people are connected and engaged with one another, they recognize when something is out of place and feel empowered to speak up or lend a hand. Our officers are honored to be part of that effort because keeping Leesburg safe isn't something the police do alone—it's something we accomplish together as a community."
Whether you're new to Leesburg or have called our town home for years, we encourage you to stop by, meet your local officers, connect with community partners, and enjoy an evening of fun for the whole family.
