Leesburg, VA (July 22, 2026) – A blue and green painted crosswalk in honor of the nonprofit Callen’s Cause is the newest painted crosswalk in the Town of Leesburg. 

The Town Council approved the long-term installation of the Callen’s Cause painted crosswalk at its April 28 meeting. The painted crosswalk is located at the intersection of South King Street and the W&OD Trail, next to Georgetown Park.

Callen’s Cause is a nonprofit headquartered in the Leesburg area that was founded by Sabrina and Robert Sullivan after they lost their first child, Callen, to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) in April 2017. Blue and green are the colors of the nonprofit organization, which raises money in support of research and technology to identify causes of SIDS and to ultimately prevent it.

All proposals for painted crosswalk installations go before the Town Council for approval. Any approved painted crosswalk is also subject to a license agreement with the Town that requires the sponsor to be responsible for all funding and physical work for installation and maintenance of the crosswalk.
