Leesburg, VA (July 8, 2026) – “Off the Page” by local fiber artist Sarah Lykins Entsminger is now on display in the lower-level meeting room at Thomas Balch Library (208 West Market Street, Leesburg). 

“Off the Page” is a fiber/textile art exhibition of contemporary artwork created as illustrations for a variety of nonfiction books. The artwork is accompanied by images of the book cover and pages on which it appeared. Textile art design and construction techniques bring the text of the books to life. The rich tactile work provides depth and texture not easily seen on a page in a book.

Entsminger is an artist, photographer, and writer. Her contemporary textile art and imagery reflect memories of place and the natural world. Writing, as well as curating exhibits, allows her to mix her passions for artwork, photography, and language together to create a new visual experience. Her visual narratives calm the chaos of the outside world and offer an open invitation to viewers to experience the peace and solace of treasured places.

Entsminger’s work has been shown in museums, galleries, and exhibitions around the world. She has created commissions which are held in private collections.

The exhibit will be on display through the end of September. It can be viewed during regular library hours: Monday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
