Leesburg, VA (July 7, 2026) – Whether you ride a bicycle, e-bike, or scooter through town, commute to work, or enjoy the area's trails, the Leesburg Police Department (LPD) is inviting riders of all ages to participate in two free Bike, E-Bike & Scooter Safety Events designed to help everyone stay safe and visible.

The events will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Leesburg Police Department (65 Plaza Street NE) in the parking lot on:
• Friday, July 17
• Friday, August 14

During each event, members of the Leesburg Police Department will provide free bicycle and e-bike safety inspections to help identify potential maintenance issues and ensure bikes are ready for safe riding. Officers will also share important safety information for bicyclists, e-bike riders, and scooter users, including practical tips to improve visibility, understand the rules of the road, and safely navigate streets, sidewalks, and trails.

Free bicycle reflectors will be available while supplies last to help riders increase their visibility, especially during low-light conditions.

"Bicycles, e-bikes, and scooters have become increasingly popular ways to travel and enjoy our community," said Chief Thea Pirnat. "These events allow riders of all ages to have their bikes inspected, improve their visibility, and learn simple safety tips that can help prevent crashes and keep everyone sharing the road safely."

No registration is required, and there is no cost to participate.
