Leesburg, VA (May 29, 2026) – The public is invited to a pop-up exhibit on Friday, June 5, on Revolution, Resistance, and Voices at the Donaldson Log Cabin.
As the nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, the exhibit reflects on how moments of conflict and change have shaped communities over time. Throughout its history, Leesburg and Loudoun County have experienced periods of upheaval, debate, and transformation that reflected broader events taking place across the nation. The legacy of the American Revolution extended far beyond the battlefield, influencing generations through ideas of perseverance and community responsibility.
During times of resistance and reform, local residents responded in different ways, through military service, civic involvement, public debate, and community action. Featured in the pop-up exhibit will be letters, photographs, records, newspaper clippings, and personal accounts that reveal how individuals experienced these moments in their daily lives. Together, these materials highlight the many voices that shaped Leesburg’s history and demonstrate how communities continued to adapt and rebuild during times of change.
The event will be held in conjunction with Leesburg First Friday, with visitors welcome to stop by the Donaldson Log Cabin, located at 14 Loudoun Street SW, between 5 and 7 p.m. Registration is not required.
