Area Man Arrested Following Attempted Vehicle Theft and Assault

Leesburg, VA (May 18, 2026) – An area man was arrested by the Leesburg Police Department following an attempted vehicle theft and assault in the 100 block of Crosstrail Boulevard SE.

On Saturday, May 16, at approximately 3 p.m., officers responded to the area for a report of a 
subject attempting to steal a vehicle. The investigation revealed that the victim was walking to his vehicle in the parking lot when he observed a male inside the vehicle attempting to steal it.

When the victim confronted the suspect, the suspect assaulted the victim before fleeing the area on foot.

Responding officers quickly located the suspect nearby and took him into custody without further incident.

Sean Doran, age 33, of no fixed address, has been charged with attempted grand larceny, possession of burglarious tools, destruction of property, assault, and providing false identification to law enforcement.

Doran was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where he is currently being held on no bond.
