Leesburg, VA (May 11, 2026) – The Town of Leesburg’s Performing Arts Commission (PAC) invites Leesburg-based performers and performing arts groups to apply for a chance to perform at the concert event Music George Washington Heard on Saturday, August 15 between 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

The event is intended to coincide with other activities commemorating America 250 and will showcase classical or folk music from the late 18th century of the kind George Washington would have heard during his life.

PAC is seeking two local soloists or ensembles to perform for approximately 45 minutes each. Performers are responsible for bringing any necessary equipment and instruments. All experience levels are welcome. Each performer or group will receive a minimum honorarium of $600 per set.

Applications are due by Thursday, May 28 and should be submitted to PAC Staff Liaison Whitney L. Hughes at whughes@leesburgva.gov. Selected artists will be notified by June 26, pending Town Council approval. Final approval is complete once a contract is signed with the Town of Leesburg.
