Leesburg’s Commission on Public Art Celebrates Completion of ‘Leesburg: A Town with Heart’ Project

Heart Sculpture Ribbon Cutting EventLeesburg, VA (May 4, 2026) – On Friday, the Commission on Public Art (COPA), along with Mayor Kelly Burk and members of the Town Council, celebrated the completion of ten heart sculptures created for the “Leesburg: A Town with Heart” public art project.

In August 2025, COPA invited artists to submit designs that reflect the community’s charm, history, and sense of connection. Ten selected designs were transformed into heart sculptures and installed throughout the Town.

During Friday’s event, images of each sculpture were unveiled, and brochures featuring a map of their locations were made available to the public. Participating artists, sponsors, and members of Friends of Leesburg Public Arts attended the celebration.

“The Commission was truly in awe of the artists who brought their designs to life,” said COPA Chair Jeanette Ward. “We hope these designs resonate with the community, bringing a little heart to Leesburg.”

An online map of each heart’s location will be available soon, with printed copies available upon request Visitors are encouraged to explore the collection in person and experience each unique design up close.
