Leesburg Public Works and Utilities Department to Host Open House on Saturday, May 9

Tours of the water plant and wastewater plant will be available to those who pre-register for the tours.

Public Works Open HouseLeesburg, VA (April 27, 2026) – In observance of National Public Works Week and National Water Week, the Town of Leesburg will host an open house on Saturday, May 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Utility Maintenance Facility located at 1385 Russell Branch Parkway SE, in Leesburg.

Residents of all ages will have the opportunity to learn more about the facilities and equipment used to provide safe, efficient, and reliable services in the Town. 

Staff from the Department of Public Works, Utilities, Capital Projects, Community Development, Emergency Management, Sustainability, as well as the Leesburg Police, will be hosting displays. Attendees will have the chance to learn about Town trash and recycling services, water and sewer services, observe demonstrations, and learn about emergency preparedness kits. 

Town vehicles will be on display, which will allow both children and adults to see the vehicles up close while learning how each one operates. In addition, residents can tour the water plant and wastewater plant. Each tour lasts one hour and is limited to 10 people, ages 10 and above. Advanced registration is required. A Bruster’s food truck will also be on-site for anyone who would like to enjoy ice cream. The Town will provide the first 100 children with a free scoop.
