Leesburg, VA (March 9, 2026) – The Leesburg Police Department is pleased to announce the promotion of Bradley Schultz to the rank of Captain, where he will serve as the Commander of the Professional Standards Bureau.

Captain Schultz began his law enforcement career with the Winchester Police Department before joining the Leesburg Police Department in 2013. Throughout his tenure with the department, he has gained extensive operational and investigative experience through assignments in Field Operations, the Traffic Unit, Resource Management, and the Criminal Investigations Section.

Schultz was promoted to Sergeant in 2016 and to Lieutenant in 2024. Most recently, he served as the Senior Watch Commander for the Field Operations Division. In that role, he supervised daily patrol operations, directed personnel across multiple shifts, and led the department’s busiest divisions, ensuring consistent achievement of both officer performance and community safety objectives.

In February 2026, Captain Schultz graduated summa cum laude from the University of Phoenix with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration, reflecting his strong commitment to professional development and leadership excellence.

Before entering law enforcement, Schultz spent three years as a special education teacher, an experience that fostered a lasting dedication to service and community engagement.
