Suspect Arrested in November 2024 Aeropostale Burglary Investigation

Leesburg, VA (March 4, 2026) – A Pennsylvania man has been charged in connection with a burglary that occurred at the Aeropostale store located at 241 Fort Evans Road NE in November 2024.

On November 23, 2024, at approximately 5:15 a.m., officers responded to the Aeropostale store for a report of a burglary. Upon arrival, officers discovered the store’s front glass door had been shattered to gain entry, and an undisclosed number of items had been taken from the business.

Following an investigation, detectives identified Timothy Earl Root, 59, of Philadelphia, PA, as a suspect in the burglary that occurred at the Leesburg Premium Outlets.

Root was extradited to Loudoun County on March 3, 2026, and has been charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools, grand larceny, and destruction of property.  He is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
