Leesburg, VA (February 27, 2026) – The public is invited to a pop-up exhibit at the Donaldson Log Cabin Friday, March 6, exploring the botanical history of Leesburg and Loudoun County. TBL Log Cabin pop-up - flower

With spring just around the corner, the exhibit will examine how residents have cultivated both ornamental and practical landscapes over generations. Materials from the collections of Thomas Balch Library will illustrate the region’s horticultural traditions such as flower shows, holiday décor, and much more.

The pop-up will feature scrapbooks, seed collections, garden club records, and historic photographs documenting home gardens and local garden organizations. Visitors will learn how gardening shaped community identity, from backyard kitchen plots to organized civic beautification efforts throughout Leesburg and Loudoun County.

The event will be held in conjunction with Leesburg First Friday, with visitors welcome to stop by the Donaldson Log Cabin, located at 14 Loudoun Street SW, between 5 and 7 p.m. Registration is not required.
