Leesburg Police Make Arrest in January 22 Attempted Armed Robbery

Leesburg, VA (February 26, 2026) – The Leesburg Police Department has arrested a Leesburg man in connection with an attempted armed robbery that occurred on January 22, 2026, at the 7-Eleven on Dry Mill Road in Leesburg.

On January 22 at approximately 12:37 a.m., a male entered the store, made demands while claiming to be armed, and then left without obtaining anything. Following an investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspect as Christopher Ellis, 55, of Leesburg. Ellis was arrested on February 26, 2026, and charged with attempted robbery and wearing a mask to conceal identity.

Ellis was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.
