UPDATE: Leesburg Police Locate Suspected Vehicle in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash

 Leesburg, VA (February 11, 2026) – The Leesburg Police Department has located the vehicle suspected of being involved in the February 8, 2026, hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Battlefield Parkway SE near Sycolin Road SE.

The vehicle is currently being processed as part of the ongoing investigation.

The department would like to thank the community for its assistance, tips, and the information shared following the release of the video related to this case. Community engagement played an important role in helping move this investigation forward.

Additional information will be released once charges are obtained.

Leesburg Police Investigating Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash

Leesburg, VA (February 10, 2026) – The Leesburg Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run pedestrian crash that occurred late Sunday evening, February 8, 2026, on Battlefield Parkway SE near Sycolin Road SE.  

At approximately 10:55 p.m., the victim stopped his vehicle in the middle lane of Battlefield Parkway SE at the Sycolin Road SE intersection after observing smoke coming from it and exited the vehicle. While outside the vehicle, he was struck by a passing car. The driver did not stop and continued traveling southbound on Battlefield Parkway SE.

Investigators believe the vehicle involved may be a gray Tesla.  There were additional vehicles traveling in the area at the time of the crash, and those drivers may have witnessed the incident.

As part of the ongoing investigation, the Leesburg Police Department is releasing video of the vehicle believed to be involved in the crash. Investigators are hopeful the video will assist in identifying the vehicle and the driver.  VIDEO

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries and has since been released.  The department is sharing video of the crash
