Property Owners Reminded to Clear Sidewalks of Snow and Ice

Post Date:02/06/2026 9:15 AM

Leesburg, VA (February 6, 2026) – The Town of Leesburg is asking property owners to clear sidewalks of ice and snow as temperatures slowly begin to increase following last week’s snowstorm.

Town staff has worked diligently since the onset of the snowstorm on Sunday, January 25, and has cleared all Town-owned sidewalks and trails.

The Town is also supporting Loudoun County’s enforcement efforts to clear sidewalks in school walk zones to provide safe routes for students by Monday, February 9. Please refer to the County news release issued earlier this week. Property owners are also asked to review information on school walk zones.

Residents who may need help with snow removal may submit their need for assistance by calling Loudoun Cares’ connect line at 703-669-4636 or by submitting Loudoun Cares’ online pre-screen form (select “other” for snow removal assistance).

Concerns about slick sidewalks or other snow or ice-related matters may be reported via https://www.leesburgva.gov/departments/public-works/snow-removal-operations/report-snow-ice-issue or by calling 703-771-2790.

Town staff will respond as necessary to areas of concern raised by residents to ensure compliance with the Town’s snow removal policies. As needed, the Town may enforce snow removal per the Town Code.
